Foundation Certificate



This entry level course provides basic information on basic grape varieties, introduction to wine tasting, food and wine pairing as well as basic service knowledge. Perfect for people new to the world of wine, this one day course results in a WSET Foundation Certificate and is a great starting point for most novice consumers.



Learning Outcomes:


Holders of the WSET level 1 Foundation Certificate in Wine and Spirits will be able to describe main styles of wines, display a basic understanding of factors that determine style, describe the main characteristics of principal grape varieties, state the correct service temperatures, equipment and glassware for wine service as well as basic food and wine pairing concepts.



Class Schedule:


The Cleveland Wine School offers a one day course from 10am – 5pm. The day includes lectures, tastings, food & wine pairing lunch and exam.



Foundation Certificate Exam:


The final exam consists of 30 multiple-choice questions. Successful completion of the exam earns students the Foundation Certificate of the WSET®.
