Advance Certificate



This course is recommended for those who have earned the Intermediate Certificate, or have a good foundation of wine knowledge. In depth lectures and discussions covering wines and spirits of the world are designed to give a thorough understanding of the principal wines and spirits of the world and their commercial importance. Successful candidates receive the Advanced Certificate of the WSET. This program of study will assist those who are required to make professional evaluations of wine and spirits with regard to their quality and commercial value. The program provides in depth product knowledge for selection in the retail and hospitality sectors.



Learning Outcomes:


After completing the Advanced Certificate program, certificate holders will be able to describe the characteristics of the principal wines and spirits of the world and give information on the key factors influencing style, quality and value. Further, they will be able to advise management, answer customer questions and make informed selections of wine and spirits in a variety of situations.



Advanced Certificate Exam:


In the final week a two-hour exam, including multiple-choice questions, short answer questions, and a blind tasting of one wine.

Fees:


$850 for twelve (12) weeks of classes and tastings, all course material, text and exam fee. Early registration (30 days before start of class) results in a 10% discount for a reduced fee of $765.
