WSET Level 2 Intermediate Certificate Wine & Spirits
The Intermediate Certificate coursework is intended for those who have little or no previous knowledge of wine and spirits. The course offers a basic level of product knowledge required for persons working in wine and spirits hospitality, retailing and wholesaling industries. Additionally, this course is perfect for the non-professional, wine enthusiasts who wish to acquire in-depth knowledge of wines and spirits and want to obtain an internationally recognized qualification. The course covers the major wines regions, and includes tastings of more than 40 different wines and spirits of the world.
Learning Outcomes:
Holders of the WSET level 2 Intermediate Certificate in Wine and Spirits will be able to interpret the labels of the major alcoholic beverages of the world, give basic guidance on appropriate selection and service, as well as knowing the principles of wine tasting and evaluation. Topics covered include: wine tasting, food & wine pairing, factors affecting style, understanding the label, classic grape varieties, labeling laws and wine styles of France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Portugal, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, USA, Chile, Argentina, Sparkling wines, sweet wines and spirits.
Intermediate Certificate Exam:
The final exam consists of 50 multiple-choice questions. Successful completion of the exam earns students the Intermediate Certificate of the WSET®.
